Tourism Awareness Poster Competition

Students are invited to submit creative visual expressions that evoke the World Tourism Day theme for 2022:

Rethinking Tourism

According to the UNWTO, Rethinking Tourism is concerned with putting people and planet first and bringing everyone from government to business to local communities together around a shared vision.


Submission Deadline: Friday, September 16, 2022

Who Can Enter

Students registered at primary, secondary, and tertiary levels are invited to submit entries for the Tourism Awareness Week Poster Competition 2022, under the theme Rethinking Tourism.

Entries must be submitted in only one of the following categories:

  • Junior – Students ages 10-14 Years (Students must not have reached their 15th birthday as at September 1, 2022)
  • Senior – Students ages 15-18 Years (Students must not have reached their 19th birthday as at September 1, 2022)
  • Young Adult – Students ages 19-30 Years (Students must not have reached their 31st birthday as at September 1, 2022)

Each student must submit one (1) poster design that depicts how he/she imagines the future of tourism. Only one poster design will be accepted for each entry.

Members of staff of the Ministry of Tourism and its Agencies are not eligible to participate in the Tourism Week Poster Competition 2022. Relatives of staff of these entities are also not eligible to participate.

Shortlisted entries will be included in an exhibition at the 2022 Tourism Youth Forum on September 28, 2022.

Competition Rules and Guidelines

  1. The competition is open only to students enrolled at a registered educational institution. Relatives of JTB, MOT, TEF or TPDCo staff members are not eligible to participate in the Tourism Week Poster Competition 2022.
  2. Each entry must be accompanied by a completed entry form. The Jamaica Tourist Board reserves the right to disqualify any poster that does not meet the requirements specified in these instructions.
  3. Posters may only contain original work. Designs submitted to the competition should not have been previously published.
  4. Posters should be no smaller than 17” x 22” and no larger than 22” ×28”. Entries can be made using any traditional media (including pencil, pastels, charcoal, watercolour, collage, or other materials). Use of computer-generated graphics is not permitted for this competition.

All entries should be submitted to the Jamaica Tourist Board by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022.
